Today was probably ONE OF THE BEST DAYS EVER! :D I got to meet Joe Jonas - the Jonas brother I absolutely LOVE among the 3! I was so glad my friend Sheryl told me about this event about 2 weeks ago and I have been calling non-stop asking when the tickets would be released! Lucky me, I got to get tickets AND a meet and greet!!!!! 

New York, New York!

They say that New York is the best city in the world, the best place to live. Somehow during my recent trip to New York, I have not yet quite agreed completely to this statement. Blame it on lack of time, we were only there for 5 full days and we were in Times Square and 54th to 42nd street the whole time. I admit, it is a shoppers heaven! From Macy's to Bergdorf Goodman to Saks Fifth Ave., the choices are endless! With all the tiny boutiques just lined up along the street, the first thing to go would be your cash.

Hey everyone! I just got back from my 3 week vacation abroad and I must say, it was definitely one of the best summers ever! :D This entry might get a little too long, so bear with me! I will try my best to show you everything that I enjoyed from my vacation in as little words and pictures as possible! Enjoy :)

We went to Toronto to visit relatives and coincidentally I also had friends who lived there! We went to Niagara, drank ice wine, saw a shoot for Canada's Next Top Model, and indulged in all the ice cream, cakes and food Toronto has to offer!

My sister graduated from high school today! Hooray! It was nice to be back in my alma mater, I almost forgot what it felt like to be in high school, dreading college and getting all emotional. (although I didn't cry during my high school graduation though.lol)

Celebrated Auddy's birthday yesterday! It was one of those rare moments where almost everyone was in attendance! Hooray :) Sheryl and I got Auddy "the best gift ever" which were Katy Perry t-shirts. His smile reached waaay beyond his ears ;)

Today's look - purple and yellow! Haha. Sorry, I can't think of a more clever title right now. I'm so tired, just got home a little while ago from the movies. We watched The Muppets. I know, a little too kiddie but I liked it. There's nothing wrong with watching kiddie movies, they make me feel good about the world and about myself. I know we all need a little cheering up every now and then. 

Anyway, decided to take photos in the living room. Made breakfast this morning and so I didn't have much time to do my hair. I've always thought of my hair as a blessing and a curse. Haha. I like it because it's super straight and everyone always asks if I've had it rebonded or something, but I never have. I only dye my hair and give it some hot oil treatment once in a while. But the down-side to having super straight hair is that it goes limp and lifeless. It doesn't really have volume and body, so if I want it to be layered/wavy, I have to work for it with a blow dryer. And most of the time, I don't have the time to do that so I end up letting it be and it's flat when it's wet. What to do?

So last night Sheryl and I met up with our old college friend/barkada - Bryan. It's been a year since I've seen him and talked to him and he's still pretty much the same old joke-cracking Bryan. Haha. Everytime I hang out with him and his friends, we always have a LOT of laughs. Always! :)

Since everyone has been going crazy about Magnum ice cream, I decided that we go to a convenience store and buy one for ourselves. I've tried Magnum already (i think? i honestly don't remember if I actually ate) when I was in Beijing because a friend of mine introduced me to it since it was her favorite ice cream! But I don't really remember much about it.

Watched Mirror, Mirror today and I think I haven't set foot inside a cinema in 2 months already! I should make it a point to start watching movies again! Lol. Anyway, the movie was okay. It had a lot of funny moments, but some of their jokes were recycled. And the 7 dwarf's names were different too! Haha. 

Anyway, I know it's been a while since I blogged about anything and everything. I guess I've just been pre-occupied. I'm reading The Hunger Games to acquaint myself with the story and characters! I can't wait to watch the movie! 

Wanted to be a bit prim and proper today, well actually I kinda want to be prim and proper already most of the time. I think I just woke up one day wanting to change my look and my style. I think I'm maturing earlier again. Haha. I seem to always mature earlier than people my age, thus the change in style. But I like it. ;)

Saturday night was spent with friends, and I guess probably it was the first time we saw each other this year! Everyone has been busy with their lives, careers, families. We grew up just like that. And it makes me miss our college days when we had lesser things to worry about.

Lunch with my friends at J centre, a new mall that just opened up a few months ago. It was my first time there today even though our office is pretty near there. I don't know why we never go though. 

Ate at District 50, an American style restaurant with a 50's vibe. I love how there's a VW beetle inside the restaurant which they converted so that you can eat inside the car! 

After lunch, headed to Cobo for some milk tea!

take a LEAP of faith

So, obviously i'm writing about the leap year and the leap day today - february 29, 2012. I only realized it was a leap day when I read all the tweets about today. My friend also told me (and it was on the news a while ago) that because of the leap year, women can be more aggressive without getting crap about it which means that girls can court a guy, ask him out on a date or even propose marriage!! Imagine that. I would never propose to a guy, leap year or not! ;)

My day started out pretty bad. Ever since Friday there has been someone who keeps leaving missed calls on my phone and doesn't even have the nerve to let me pick up before he puts it down. (I'm assuming it's a he because I am also assuming the person is probably a stalker/admirer?) Anyway, this person uses different numbers but it is so obvious that he's using company cellphones to call me. So obviously it is the boss of a certain company who has a lot of employees that he can borrow cellphones from. Moving on, I was the so-called "boss for the day" because my parents were out and my dad forgot to give me the keys! I was so worried since today was payday BUT, luckily I found the magic key. Haha :D

But what made my leap day special was the fact that God answered my prayers. I was so bothered about the prank caller that I forgot to ask Him for help. I just remembered this morning and God answered me right away in the afternoon! I find it so amazing that sometimes when we're looking for answers, the most obvious ones don't come to us because God hides them from us. He wants to be the One we ask help from and He wants to be the one to give the solution - no matter how simple it may be. So my problem is solved. Take that! ;)

Had a craving for mango float and was finally able to make one today! We were about to eat the mango seeds when little worms started coming out. Uh oh. I don't think my mango float has worms, or does it?

out of the ordinary

celebrated my parents (both mom and dad) birthday which is just a day after Valentine's Day. they were born 2 years apart but celebrate the same birth date, amazing right? :)

we had a little dinner party with a few of my parents friends and some relatives of ours. it has been raining the whole week but that didn't stop us from going out (nor did that stop people from going out on Vday either. the traffic was horrible!).
