take a LEAP of faith

So, obviously i'm writing about the leap year and the leap day today - february 29, 2012. I only realized it was a leap day when I read all the tweets about today. My friend also told me (and it was on the news a while ago) that because of the leap year, women can be more aggressive without getting crap about it which means that girls can court a guy, ask him out on a date or even propose marriage!! Imagine that. I would never propose to a guy, leap year or not! ;)

My day started out pretty bad. Ever since Friday there has been someone who keeps leaving missed calls on my phone and doesn't even have the nerve to let me pick up before he puts it down. (I'm assuming it's a he because I am also assuming the person is probably a stalker/admirer?) Anyway, this person uses different numbers but it is so obvious that he's using company cellphones to call me. So obviously it is the boss of a certain company who has a lot of employees that he can borrow cellphones from. Moving on, I was the so-called "boss for the day" because my parents were out and my dad forgot to give me the keys! I was so worried since today was payday BUT, luckily I found the magic key. Haha :D

But what made my leap day special was the fact that God answered my prayers. I was so bothered about the prank caller that I forgot to ask Him for help. I just remembered this morning and God answered me right away in the afternoon! I find it so amazing that sometimes when we're looking for answers, the most obvious ones don't come to us because God hides them from us. He wants to be the One we ask help from and He wants to be the one to give the solution - no matter how simple it may be. So my problem is solved. Take that! ;)

Had a craving for mango float and was finally able to make one today! We were about to eat the mango seeds when little worms started coming out. Uh oh. I don't think my mango float has worms, or does it?

out of the ordinary

celebrated my parents (both mom and dad) birthday which is just a day after Valentine's Day. they were born 2 years apart but celebrate the same birth date, amazing right? :)

we had a little dinner party with a few of my parents friends and some relatives of ours. it has been raining the whole week but that didn't stop us from going out (nor did that stop people from going out on Vday either. the traffic was horrible!).

♥♥♥

Valentine's is in the air!

I thought of making my look neutral since I don't love this day, but I also don't hate it. Wore a dress from H&M which I got when I was still studying in Beijing. I wore a nude skirt underneath though because the dress is too short to be worn alone and I didn't want it to go flying everywhere! Paired it with my beige wedges and added hints of red and orange to my outfit.

This is probably the first time that I didn't care about V-day, didn't care if I went out or got something. It's typically just another day for me, and I love that I've reached this point in my life. :)

don't sweat it

I love how cute this sweater is because of the details on the neck area - there are pearls attached to it! Too bad I didn't get a clearer shot of the details though.

After shock from the earthquake. Whew. Still paranoid about it.

Logos Hope

The weekend was spent on the beach, just lazing around and doing nothing but eat and swim. Shangri-la wasn't that packed since it was just an ordinary weekend, but as always, it was full of Koreans. haha.   We went to Logos Hope on Sunday (finally) to check out the books. Logos Hope is the sister ship of Doulos, and it's the largest floating book fair in the world. They travel to different countries and share the Word of God in every city they visit! :)

The ship this time was a bit smaller though, and going around the bookstore took just a couple of minutes. I had a hard time choosing books since there were so many people on the boat! You can't even move to the left or right without someone blocking the way or looking at books too. Haha.

I bought 3 books - one devotional and two books for the soul. Can't wait to read them!

take cover and run

one of the scariest things that could have happened, happened today. Cebu and a few other cities in the Visayas region was hit by an earthquake today at 11:50 this morning.

i felt the building move and when i looked at the clock, it was shaking so hard i thought it would fall off any second. i realized it was an earthquake but i thought it would just die down after a split second. but it didn't. then the intensity of the quake grew stronger, and that's when we decided to make a run for it! people were yelling "earthquake" and everyone was scrambling to get down the stairs and outside the building. the others hid under their desks, but they were only a few. funny how the first thing i thought of as i was getting out of the room was "gotta grab my phones". LOL.

as we went down the stairs, we heard something fall and break. one customer, a foreigner, was saying "wow, earthquake! i've never experienced something like this before!" and my mom and i laughed (if you could laugh when you're effin scared out of your mind?) and quickly went out of the building. the sign posts were moving, the cars were shaking, and one customer quickly got in their car and backed away! the people across us were just sitting there, eating and staring at us. did they not know that there was an earthquake going on?!?

it lasted for probably over 30 seconds. who knows. i wasn't really keeping track. all i could think of was how loudly my heart was beating in my chest and how strong my heartbeat was. if this was what the end times were going to be like, then i would not want to think about what else was coming. that was the scariest moment of my life. probably more frightening than the time we were in Thailand during the tsunami. (although that was scary because we COULD have died if we were anywhere near the beach and not the city) maybe because we were on vacation and in a way, we still had a home we could go back to. but now, this is the reality of things. once you experience something like this, how can you go back to how you once were? i feel like this is also a wake up call. i shouldn't be idle anymore! i'm too complacent and too comfortable with the temporary things of this world.

i mean, if ever things have to come to and end, i know where i'm going - and that's in eternity with Jesus. if you love your friends and family, bring them to Christ. Jesus is the way, the truth and the life. no one comes to the Father except through Him. accept Him as your personal Lord and Savior, open up your heart. are you sure of where you're going after this life? because i know i am.

Revenge

I am addicted to this new series, Revenge! My cousin kept telling me to watch it when the show was just starting but at the time, I had too many shows on my plate (even until now, I still do). And about 2 weeks ago I saw the trailer for Revenge on Star World, and I was really intrigued! The trailer totally piqued my curiosity so I downloaded a few episodes and checked it out. After watching the first episode, I couldn't stop watching the show! I would literally think about it until I fell asleep. Haha, obsessed?

Anyway, for those who haven't seen the show or are looking for a new series to follow, I suggest you give Revenge a try! :) Here's an overview of the story:

"REVENGE is universal. As primal as the need for love, sex, or the feeding of a searing hunger. Revenge crosses time and culture. It starts unwinnable wars and visits generations of blood feuds on families with unsettled scores. Revenge is as old as humanity. Dark and dramatic and endless." - - Mike Kelley, Creator of REVENGE

Wealth, beauty and status define the people in this town, but one woman is willing to destroy everyone for the sake of revenge.

Emily Thorne (Emily Van Camp) is new to the Hamptons. She's met some of her wealthy neighbors, has made a few new friends and seemingly blends into the town. But something is a little odd about a young girl living in a wealthy town all on her own, and the truth is that Emily isn't exactly new to the neighborhood. In fact, this was once her old neighborhood, until something bad happened that ruined her family and their reputation. Now Emily is back, and she's returned to right some of those wrongs in the best way she knows how – with a vengeance.

modern day princess

I stumbled upon this photo circling around facebook and I thought it was so cute!! The person who drew this is very talented! :)

It's cute to see our favorite princesses in the modern day setting! I've always loved Aurora because I think she is the prettiest of them all! But right now, looking at these drawings, I personally think Pocahontas is super sexy!! They all look pretty but, what happened to Belle??

Who's your favorite Disney Princess? :)
