This is my year!

It's crazy how we Chinese celebrate the New Year two times. Basically the "rituals" are the same during the American New Year and Chinese New Year. We prepare the round fruits, eat noodles and sticky rice and stewed pork that is oh so good! (hong ti kha!)

I'm really looking forward to this New Year because I really feel that this year will be THE year for me! I don't know what God has in store for me, but I just know that it will be amazing! :) And plus, it's my year definitely because it's the year of the Water Dragon. I was born in 1988 so my sign is the Earth Dragon. (i think the color is Blue Dragon?)

So, as we say in chinese, 新年快乐 (xin nian kuai le - happy new year), 恭喜发财 (gong xi fa cai - peace and prosperity) and 年年有鱼 (nian nian you yu - kinda like may riches abound)!

beauty is wasted in the office

I woke up feeling so inspired to dress up that I realized that I missed doing it so much. I also realized a few things too. Like how being stuck at the office and current job that I am in (family business) is not something that I really REALLY want to be doing for the rest of my life. I want to be in an office or a job that let's me dress up, where I can meet peers who are at least the same age as me, and where I can actually grow. But as always, my problem is, what job does that for me?? Where should I apply? What job is for me? I have no freakin' clue! Help.

Anyhoo, I took pictures at a different area of the house today. I still haven't found the "perfect" spot to take pictures so I'm trying them all out. I love this spot though because the natural light comes in and the pictures look so much better.

Most of my outfit consists of what I bought in Hong Kong. But what I love most about my outfit are my shoes. I've worn them a total of 3x already this week! Talk about love. I don't think I've ever worn a shoe more than 2x in a week. And wearing it 2x is already a lot! I don't do that often. I love the shoes because the heels are just the right height, plus they make my feet look super sexy!

We went to an Uncle's house for his birthday party and all the people in attendance were old and older. Haha. Good thing our family friend's went and so at least we weren't the only young ones there. The highlight of the party was the salsa and cha-cha dancing. I guess when you grow older you tend to love that stuff more, especially for the exercise. They were so game to dance with the instructors and they had such a blast. Go oldies! ;)

Oddly enough, on our way home, my dad told us that one of his friends told him if he could let his sons court us. Of course, I was flattered. Haha. I just find it strange because this is like the third time I'm hearing of this from my dad. People who go to the office and see me immediately ask my dad if it's okay to set me up with their son, etc. For me, I'm SO OKAY with that! Haha. Who wouldn't be?? I guess that's one of the perks of being single? ;)

Have a happy long weekend!

One big party!

Every 3rd Sunday of January is the annual "Sinulog" festival in Cebu and it's one heck of a party! I think no other island in the Philippines has a celebration this great and fun, and wild. :)

I met up with a couple of my "group mates" from college whom I haven't seen in probably 2 years or so. I don't know why everytime we meet, it always ends up being just the 4 of us! Watched the fireworks display in SM - which was amazing btw! - and drove through traffic even late at night!

A little taste of winter

Spent 4 wonderful days in Hong Kong! It's still "winter" over there so I was glad for the change of weather, at least I could use my blazers and jackets without dying of the heat. We took the late night flight and arrived at HKIA around 1:30 am.

Jeanne and me

The boys! (L-R: Lorenzo, Kenny and Anderson)

We were staying at our friends place in Yau Ma Tei which is actually an office so we had to wait until around 8 am before we could leave the airport! We found benches and tried our very best to get some sleep but around 4 or 5 am the airport air condition got so cold that it was hard to go back to sleep. We spent our morning shopping at the City Gate outlet in Tung Chung. Being a "regular" of Hong Kong, I'm happy that I also got to go to places that I've never been to before! It was a refreshing change of scenery. :) I've been going to Hong Kong every year ever since I was 12 years old? I can't really remember. But we always stop by Hong Kong when we can. Go figure, I guess we just love to shop?? :))

First MTR ride!

Day 2 was Ocean Park day and we tried almost all the rides. (Well, they tried. I'm a bit of a scaredy cat.. :| )

one of the new rides, The Flash
Beijing's Happy Valley also had a ride like this one. It's like a pendulum that swings around, a full 360 degrees! And for like 5 seconds, you're suspended in the air, upside down, seeing the sea and everything else around you. So scary!

we survived!

hair raiser roller coaster!

On the third day we went to the Peak and Madame Tussauds then shopping afterwards!

on the way to the peak

super tired!
On the last day we basically went anywhere we wanted. Since it was a free day, the girls and boys separated. I think we went to Hong Kong at the perfect time because ALL the stores were ON SALE! :) H&M, Zara, Monki, Mango, Bershka, Pull and Bear, Cotton On, you name it! I had to still keep my clear head on and not get too overwhelmed with the sales. What can I say, I love a good sale. :)
