A Look Back on the year that was

In a few minutes, the clock will strike 12 and we welcome a New Year with open arms. We ponder about our life and write our New Year's resolutions, dress up and go to a fabulous party, find someone to kiss at midnight, or just stay at home and watch feel good movies. Sometimes when it reaches to the end of the year, I forget what happened in between and remember only what happened in the end. Here's what I thought of 2011.

What happened in 2011:

1. Graduated from my Mandarin language class and said goodbye to Beijing life.
2. Made a lot of new friends.
3. Watched the Justin Bieber concert in Manila!
4. Was baptized as a born-again Christian on Easter Sunday.
5. Repaired broken friendships and got second chances.
6. Moved into our dream house :)
7. Lost my iphone :(

What I received in 2011:

1. Material things that I don't really need, just want
2. Answered prayers
3. Blessings - more than I could ever imagine
4. The gift of friends and friendship

What I'm thankful for in 2011:

1. Our new house
2. A successful surgery (for my dad)
3. Friends and family
4. Second chances
5. Friendships rebuilt
6. Family trips abroad
7. Promises of a brighter future

What I'm looking forward to in 2012:

1. Traveling abroad with friends
2. More family adventures abroad
3. Possibly leaving my comfort zone and try work elsewhere
4. Promise of a better tomorrow
5. The chance of meeting someone new
6. A whole year to start fresh

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE! :)

the road to celebridom begins with a look

My Christmas vacation was super busy and jam-packed. Every day a different party. I gained a pound in just 5 days! The horror!

During the second day we hung out with relatives from my father's side. I don't know if I already mentioned it but my Uncle is an actor on the TV series "My Binondo Girl" who plays Kim Chiu's father. Who would have thought he would become a star?? And more importantly, who knew so many people were gaga over him!? Haha. It's so weird because people recognize him more now, and they (us too!) get special treatment! :)

happy birthday kong kong!!

Our grandpa celebrated his 85th birthday last December 21! :)

so cute

the grandkids (incomplete)

Every year we go to Manila to celebrate my grandpa's birthday, and the whole family always meets up for dinner. I love it whenever family from my mother's side meet up because we always have a lot of fun! And it also means the beginning of days of excessive eating! Gahhh.

dots a party

Wearing polka dots reminds me of New Year's and all the superstitious beliefs about dots. Haha. We watched New Year's Eve today and I absolutely love the stories and how they were merged together. I wonder what they will make next. Halloween? Haha :))

high school never ends :)

We had our high school christmas party last night and coincidentally, it was also one of our friend's birthday. Yehey, double celebration! ;)

Traffic had been so crazy that day and I really needed a good time so I was glad we had our party that night.

Food was potluck and I'm glad we had a lot of variety this year. Every year I always plan the party (because no one else wants to take responsibility for it :p) but last year since I was in Beijing, I left the party planning in their hands. And boy, from what I heard, the party last year was a disaster. Hahaha. Let's just say everyone got to eat chicken... cooked differently.

Love the food selection this year!!

We played charades and a game that they just invented, but it was a really fun night! I love my friends. I love the holidays! :)

Happy weekend everyone :)
